In and around Peking. A description of Views, taken by Thos. Child. N° 8. Summer Palace. "Wan Shou Shan" [Hill of ten thousand ages]. Gives a general view of the north side of the hill and grounds from the N. W. Quaint little roofs are seen peeping through the foliage of the trees ; which are now in their prime. The paths winding among rockwork ; up hill, down again, under little gateways, round grassy mounds, among the trees, and the diversified beauties of the place, combine to show the great taste and skill the Chinese possess, in landscape gardening.
